3D Printed Set, Concept  and process For my concept, I got inspired by a game called Machinarium, which it has very cool robots; I think having chess made from robots will be very cool.          Machinarium inspiration                                      Robot chess thumbnails: Robot Chess Rhino  Rhino Top View  Rhino Perspective view  Rhino artistic view Rhino close-ups

REVERSE ENGINEERED OBJECT: PROGRESS II Work in progress, perspective and front view. I have a difficult time figuring out how to close my surfaces.  I will keep working on my rendering to finish and have most of the render done next week.  Assignment

SURFACE DESIGN STUDY, LASER CUT SAMPLE.   I found the process interesting because it is nice to see the pattern come to life. THE HOLES ALONG THE DESIGN GIVE A SENSE OF 3D TO THE COMPOSITION. Close-up of the composition.

REVERSE ENGINEERED                                            OBJECT: SELECTION  For the reverse engineering project, I choose three possible objects that I found interesting. For my first option, I decided on the speedball lino cutter as it has a lot of little pieces, and it is easy to put it apart and back together. It has a twist_off end cap, cutter storage and a chuck system, which is easy to set apart.                                                                                     For my second option, I chose a cute camera pencil sharpener which has different parts that can come apart. I am kind more toward my first option as I don't know if I can put i...

SURFACE DESIGN STUDY: RESEARCH & DESIGN For this assignment, I went on a scavenger hunt. For my search, I concentrated on patterns and geometric shapes. My original idea was more toward organic forms, which I considered since I was inspired by Mexico. Since I wanted to incorporate some of that feeling and colours into my pattern design, I researched some exciting ideas and vibrant colours. I focus on geometric shapes, especially squares I arranged into each other, obtaining attractive design composition. I kept working on my idea until I was happy with the pattern, the beginning to hatch, which was time-consuming, but I was having fun.  Here is a close up of my final design before hatching. Hatch and choose vibrant colours working with the colours close up! Final composition:
